DEPARTMENT OF NEVADA 2010 CONVENTION

1. This year’s Convention will be sponsored by the Greater Nevada Marine Corps League Detachment #186 at the Leatherneck Club located at 4360 W. Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89102. We are located directly behind the ARCO gas station at Spring Mountain and Arville at the NE corner. The phone number for the detachment is 702- 368-1775. You are encouraged to bring your spouse to the dinner.

1. Room reservations can be made at The Orleans Hotel and Casino at Tropicana and Arville. Room rates are $90 for Friday and Saturday night plus tax. The telephone number for The Orleans is 702-365-7111. Request the reservation as a member of the Nevada State Department of the Marine Corps League. Let us know if you need transportation to and from the Leatherneck Club.

1. Registration will open on Friday, 21 May 2010 at 1300 and ID bracelets will be provided for all attendees. The registration fee is $5.00. The bracelet will enable you to get drinks at the bar on Friday until 2200 and after dinner on Saturday until 2200.

1. The Devil Dog Growl will take place in Childress Hall at the Leatherneck Club from1600-1800 on Friday.  For more information on this event contact:  Harry Hines, 684 S. Taylor St, Fallon, NV  89406, Phone 775-423-5851,  Email marinedog@charter.net .

1.  Breakfast will be served at the Leatherneck Club starting at 0730 on Saturday and will be open to all attendees. The cost will be $7.00 prepaid with the registration form. Breakfast will be Scrambled eggs (Denver Style) bacon, ham, hash browns, toast and coffee.

1. The General meeting will start at 0900 and the morning session will go until 1130. The afternoon session will start promptly at 1300 and adjourn at 1500.

1. Lunch can be pre-ordered and paid with the registration form. Our mess will provide the following menu options:

1. Classic cheeseburger with fries                                       $8.00

1. Spinach chicken salad with red vinaigrette dressing    $8.00

1. BLT with fries                                                                  $7.00

1. Grilled ham & cheese with fries                                      $7.00

1. There will be a Pistol match at American Shooters indoor range next to the Leatherneck Club. The Range fee is $10.00 to be paid at the Range. The weapon will be the .45 caliber 1911 and ammo will be ball. If you have a .45 caliber bring it with you. All firing will be from 10 yards with 10 practice rounds. Course of fire will be: 10 rounds slow fire and 10 rounds timed fire, 2 strings of 5 rounds fired in a 20 second time limit. The pistol match will start at 1530 and go to 1730. Scores will be announced at dinner.

1. Dinner will start at 1900 at the Club. The menu will be a choice of:

1. 6 oz. Sirloin and jumbo prawns                                     $30.00

1. Chicken                                                                            $30.00

1. Blackened 8oz Salmon filet                                           $30.00

             All dinners include: salad, potatoes, vegetables, rolls, dessert and coffee. Cost of dinner is $30 per person and can be paid with the registration form. Free drinks will be available at the bar after dinner until 2200 for all who are registered for the convention. ID bracelet is required.
